Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha’s Lootera, which originally hit theatres in July 2013, is set to make a grand comeback with a theatrical re-release on March 7, 2025. This highly anticipated revival will allow audiences to relive the poignant love story on the big screen, immersing both fans and new viewers in its breathtaking cinematography and emotional depth. The film’s return comes as part of a growing trend of re-releasing critically acclaimed movies, giving them a second life in theatres.

Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Lootera is set in the 1950s during the implementation of the Zamindari Abolition Act, blending historical events with an intimate tale of love and betrayal. The film follows the journey of a young conman posing as an archaeologist and his fateful romance with a Bengali zamindar’s daughter. The gripping narrative, combined with hauntingly beautiful music and striking cinematography, cemented Lootera as a cult classic over the years. Why Lootera’s Re-Release Matters Over the past decade, Lootera has grown in stature, with cinephiles and critics alike praising its nuanced storytelling, impeccable performances, and soulful soundtrack by Amit Trivedi. The film’s re-release will provide an opportunity for audiences to experience its magic once again, this time with renewed appreciation for its artistic excellence. Given the current interest in reviving past cinematic gems, Lootera’s return could reignite its legacy and introduce it to a whole new generation of moviegoers.

With the re-release of classic films becoming a popular trend, it will be interesting to see how Lootera performs at the box office in its second run

Dhurandhar is all over the internet and it has become a big talking point thanks to its real-life references, performances, certain moments and of course the music. A day after its release on December 5, the song ‘FA9LA’, featuring Akshaye Khanna’s character Rehman Dacait, making a dramatic entry at a celebration in Balochistan, has gone viral. The song is very catchy and there’s no way an active social media user hasn’t seen its videos and Reels.
