Following the phenomenal success of the 2018 film Stree, Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan have finally returned with the popular horror-comedy franchise, which is the highly awaited sequel, Stree 2. With Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao once again reprising as leads along with Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee, the film’s teaser was earlier unveiled in theatres along with Munjya. Now, the makers have unveiled the same on social media to spark further excitement among fans.

What is Stree 2 teaser all about?

Directed by Amar Kaushik, the teaser hints at a thrilling narrative that will see the return of the original cast as they set out yet another spooky adventure and on a mission to protect Chanderi after a series of demonic occurrences, to protect their town from evil spirits. They dropped the teaser on social media along with the tagline, “Iss baar Chanderi mein azaadi ke din hoga aatank!(This time, Chanderi will experience terror on the day of Independence), hinting at the release on Independence Day.

About Stree 2

The makers unveiled the teaser earlier with Munjya, since the latter along with Stree 2 is a part of the ambitious Dinesh Vijan Cinematic Universe which is expected to bring together a series of interesting horror comedies together. Varun Dhawan starrer Bhediya too is expected to be a part of this world.

With Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee, reprising their roles as Vicky, Rudra, Bittu, and Jana, the film promises to take audiences on a scary yet hilarious world where the legendary Stree continues to terrify men. While the film was expected to release in the end of August, recently, the makers announced the preponement of the date. It is now slated to release on August 15, 2024.
