Netflix greenlights Tahir Raj Bhasin starrer Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein for season 2 September 13, 2022 at 12:45PM

The crime – mystery series Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein that was released on the OTT giant Netflix earlier this year received rave reviews for its content and execution. Starring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweth Tiwari, and Anchal Singh amongst others the series captured the audience with some even sharing on social media that they were so hooked that they completed the show in one sitting. Now, after reporting that Netflix had canceled the second season of two other shows, viz. Aranyak and The Fame Game, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that the streaming giant has greenlit season 2 of Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein.

As per the update, looking at the popularity of Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein and the reception & appreciation it received Netflix was keen on a second season. Reveals a source close to the developments, “Netflix was interested in a second season for Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, on the condition that the content of the show was at par or better than the first. In today’s market everything comes down to content, if that fails everything else collapses like a house of cards. For instance, look at the shows Aranyak that featured Raveena Tandon and The Fame Game which featured Madhuri Dixit. Both shows were well received and both featured rather big names in the cast. However, when it came to a second season for these two shows, Netflix dropped the idea of going ahead based on their investment and ROI for the first season. On the other hand, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein has been renewed for a second season. Despite being made on a lower budget than Aranyak and The Fame Game, it garnered more views on the streaming platform.”

Ask for more details on Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein season 2 and the source continues, “Now that Netflix has given a go ahead the series will commence shooting later this year with a release sometime in 2023.” Further talking about what to expect from Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein season 2 the source concludes, “If you thought season 1 of the show was good wait to you see season 2 of Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein”.

As for the show itself, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein followed the story of a man aggressively pursued by a politician's daughter who will do anything to marry him, following which the small-town man takes drastic measures to reclaim his life.
