Actress, producer and goodwill ambassador of UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), Dia Mirza has been raising concerns regarding the devastating impact of sanitary napkins on the environment. She is now baffled by the findings of the report ‘Menstrual Waste 2022’ brought out by the NGO Toxics Link. The report found the presence of phthalates and volatile organic compounds in six in-organic and four organic sanitary pads available in the market. As per the report, alarming amounts of chemicals linked with heart disorders, diabetes, and cancer have been found in sanitary napkins that millions of women buy and use. Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda, who made his Hindi film debut with Liger in August, was grilled for 12 hours by Enforcement Directorate. He left the ED office at 8:30 am on Thursday and briefly commented on the controversy surrounding the investment and alleged illegal funding in making the movie. On November 25, the Cyber Cell Division of Mumbai police arrested an ex-staff member of Puneet Issar after the former allegedly tried to rob his boss of Rs. 17 lakhs. This staff member named Abhishek Narayan is said to have quit before committing the crime and hacked the filmmaker-actor’s email ID for the con. When the suspicious filmmaker-actor approached the police, the latter nabbed the culprit from the Madh area of Mumbai with the help of his bank details. Talking about the incident, the Mumbai police revealed that Abhishek Narayan, who worked for Puneet Issar as his light man, had broken into the email account of the actor after he quit his job. Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale died in Pune, at the age of 77, on Saturday.  After reeling under ill health over the past few days, Gokhale breathed his last at Pune's Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. The late actor was admitted a few days ago due to health-related complications. Confirming the news, Gokhale's daughter told PTI, “This is to confirm that Mr Vikram Gokhale passed away this afternoon. We would like to thank everyone for their good wishes, support and prayers through this difficult time.” In a statement shared on Thursday, the family of the late actor had informed that he was “extremely critical.” Another report shared by Indian Express had quoted a source close to the family saying, “Doctors treating him are trying their best, and until the doctors give any further instructions to the family, they’ll not be in the state to make any statement. Sanjay Leela Bhansali leaves for London on November 25 with his film Gangubai Kathiawadi at the BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards). The film is being submitted in all the major categories including Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Leading Actress and Film Not in the English Language.
